Pay rate: £150.00 Per Day (Live-In)

Our client is looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to provide his care and academic support to enable him to make the most of his internship.

About Our Client
Our client has a diagnosis of Duchene Muscular Dystrophy. This is a progressive illness which causes muscle fatigue of the entire body. Because of this, he uses a powered wheelchair to get around. Although he requires physical assistance, he is able to feed himself, use his mobile phone and computer, and also carry small items. Our client is looking for a PA to help with personal care, academic support and everyday life.

- “Boccia is also one of my hobbies and I compete in the sport at a high level. I train at least once a week with league meetings throughout the year. On a few weekends, I also attend competitions. I hope to make the most of many social opportunities at university, such as attending society’s and going out to restaurants, parks, pubs e.g. I enjoy going out and socialising, whether that be participating in my Boccia, going for meals or other general out and about activities, so I am looking for a PA who is not only prepared to, but looking forward to, supporting me with the social aspect of student life!”

You are unlikely to have experience in every aspect of our client's care therefore full training in his particular needs is provided.
You will need: -

-To have a good sense of humour
-To be friendly
-Able to follow directions
-Be flexible and accommodating to our clients varied university lifestyle
-Good communication skills
-Able to respect privacy
-To be fluent in English (Both written and spoken)
-To be clean and tidy in both your appearance and ways
-To be a non-smoker
Whilst care experience is useful, it is more important that you have the personal attributes that make for a good “match” with our client.
