JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Supporting the Pre-Select phase by helping to assess the validity of newly identified business needs to determine if they support the ED’s strategic goals/objectives and delivers a technology or service needed to fulfill a capability for the broader IT portfolio that does not duplicate an existing technologies.
- Support for the pre-select phase should be carried out in alignment with the corresponding EPMR phase for Business Needs review.
- Supporting the Select Phase by helping to ensure that the IT portfolio is comprised of the appropriate range of investments that will best support the mission and strategic goals of the Department in a cost-effective manner, through activities such as IT budget formulation and IT governance deliberations on IT portfolio budget approvals.
- Supporting the Control Phase by helping to monitor IT initiatives during the planning, acquisition, deployment, and operations/maintenance phases of the investment lifecycle through OMB mandated activities such as budget exhibit development (MITBC/MITBCD), programmatic monthly and annual reviews, determination of CIO Evaluation Ratings, and annual and Passback submission of all IT investments through the AITPS and conducting TechStats as applicable.
- Supporting the Evaluate Phase by helping to assess whether operational IT investments have met their stated outcomes/objectives by delivering the benefits and requirements outlined in the business case, through activities such as Post Implementation Reviews and Operation Analysis as appropriate and in alignment with EPMR.
